School shooting threat: Harris Co. teen arrested after sending menacing email about Robert Vela HS in Edinburg, police say!

Harris County, Texas (KTRK) – A Harris County teen has been arrested after being accused of threatening to shoot a school in the valley last week, according to authorities.

Edinburgh Unified Independent School District officials said the teen was arrested in Harris County within hours of sending a threatening email last Thursday to the assistant principal of Robert Villa High School.

According to the police, the email included the words “shooting” and “shooting”.

The school later contacted the police, who implicated the FBI.

ECISD Police Chief Ricardo Perez said the FBI tracked down the teen in the Cy-Fair community in Harris County and arrested him.

Officials said the juvenile faces criminal charges for making a terrorist threat and will be tried in Harris County.
